I will be adding pictures to this slide show as I go along. As the pictures advance, you can put the cursor on the photo and it will pause it while you look at it. Some of the pictures are a little small and it's hard to see the detail. If you click on the "View All Images" button or one of the pictures while they are in rotation, it will take you directly to the site so you can see the enlarged version. Please feel free to leave any comments at the bottom of this page or in the comment box that will come up at the end of the slide presentation. Enjoy the picture show

I need an Idea for a 70th birthday cake for a man .
I wandered your blog a few weeks ago and I really can not get enough! Please keep writing!
Melissa,
For a 70th birthday, I would suggest finding out what some of his hobbies and interests have been over the years and maybe gear it towards that. Or…..if you have access to someone who does the photo frosting sheets, you could do a picture of him as a baby or a young boy or do like a time line and put several pictures on one frosting sheet. Hope that gives you some ideas.
Linda
i am new to this site but i love it! i have some time on my hands now, as i am a stay at home mom now, can't wait to try my hand at making cakes and cupcakes and maybe even sell some. this should be a great help!
I am designing my daughters wedding cake and just need a few piping ideas
Probably one of the easiest things you can do is get ahold of a wedding cake decorating book (such as Wilton’s) and look at all their photos to get an idea of what kind of piping you want to do. There are so many options with the different icing tips you can use as far as the design and size, but also accenting it with wedding colors or leaving it white like the icing on the cake itself. Of course you will want to get your daughter’s input to make her wedding cake memorable. Good luck!
Hi,
Can anyone help me with mixing the colours to sugarpaste. I want to produce a Royal Blue, but its just not happening????
Thankyou.
@ Nikki – please refer to this post about colors: http://www.cakeideas101.com/cake-ideas-coloring-the-icing It lists how to make navy blue by adding black to royal blue. I believe royal blue is the normal blue coloring – it just takes a lot of it. Hope that helps
Any suggestions on how to find a red cake color that doesn't have a bitter taste? Thanks.
Mellissa,
I have been wanting to do a 'this is you're life" cake. I think for an older person that would be awesome! Each tier could represent a life stage.
That would be an awesome cake to show their life stages! Good luck
Wilton has a red food coloring that says “RED (NO TASTE)” on the label. I haven’t noticed the bitterness with that, but it seems like it takes more of the coloring to get it to the right shade. Red is one of those colors that I think is hard to get to the right shade because it does take so much of the coloring. Good luck!
I need an idea for a movie themed birthday cake
When I am looking for a particular theme for a cake, I go to google and do a search for it. Once on the google page you can click the word ‘images’ on the left side of the black bar across the top. This should give you plenty of options for ideas. If you do edible image cakes, you can save the pic to your computer and then print it off on a frosting sheet. Hope that helps
